What's missing in the video, as with most videos showcasing L.A.'s homeless situation, is that it focuses primarily on Downtown L.A.'s infamous skid row. Known as the world's largest outdoor insane asylum, skid row has always been a problem. It's looked like this for at least 20yrs . The problem now is the people living on the streets is everywhere throughout the city. Go to Hollywood and there are people on the streets. Go to L.A.'s coveted west side and there are people living in tents on the streets. The problem is no longer dedicated to skid row. It is widespread and embarrassing. The thing is I don't think there is a simple once size fits all solution. I think unfortunately at the heart of this problem is that people have given up, thrown in the towel and are no longer inspired enough to strive for the so called "American Dream." This is an internal problem that without a strong sense of purpose in life can approach anyone and any city. Homelessness is on the rise everywhere. L.A. is just a microcosm of what may come soon to a city near you if it hasn't already reared it's ugly head. As I mentioned there is no silver bullet to remedy this but a strong sense of purpose in life is definitely a start and that begins with a strong faith in God. You man disagree all you want but the further a society gets from God the further and faster to the bottom it will go.
