Every Single Person Matters! I think of this more than ever during this pandemic. I am trying to be mindful to be more helpful to others. I practiced this when I would visit my home health patients and was really able to connect with a lot of them and their families. It does not matter in terms of race, color, nationality, sex, age, disability, status, or religion. We are all people and no one should be left behind. Just like the Los Angeles Unified School District promotes “No child left behind,” NO ONE should be left behind. I need to try and be better and help every single person I come in contact with in any way that I can.
Herm Edwards, the head coach of Arizona State University, provided a teaching moment to his team during a Sportscenter Featured Special on his return to coaching. He showed them a video of what the cooks of the ASU kitchen were going through thirty minutes prior to serving the team’s dinner. The video showed a fire alarm incident which flooded the kitchen. One of the employees was working hard by sweeping the water towards the drain.
He said, “I want those people on our team! Make sure when you see those folks, just tell them thank you every once in a while.”
Every Single Person Matters!

I realize this with interactions in my life. One person I know that is doing big things in social media and in her online business. She responds to EVERY single person’s replies to her posts, emails, or texts. She acknowledges how grateful she is for the support and people reaching out to her. She makes everyone feel special and appreciated.
On the other side of the coin, I wanted to possibly get more information on telehealth, when I was initially fearful of what the future would entail for me as a physical therapist. I reached out to an old boss, who had been trying to launch telehealth but then overnight had an overwhelming influx of customers due to the pandemic. He simply replied to my inquiry with, “Short answers. Sorry, absolutely crushed right now everyone trying to get online with telehealth.” I appreciated the response but felt brushed aside.

I know I need to work on myself and strive to realize my purpose here on Earth. It’s to help and serve others. I need to continue to practice the message that Every Single Person Matters and no matter how big or small, we have to show people that we care!
A sign I found during our walk!
