By life purpose I mean the reason why you are here on this planet at this particular time. Life purpose goes beyond what you do for a living or how much you make. Life purpose is about being in touch with your soul and realizing you have a greater purpose for being alive at this time. Realizing God has a meaningful purposeful plan for your life. He has given you gifts to achieve this purpose. It is up to you to discover those gifts and to use them. Everyday He is trying to show you, trying to help you and give you subtle hints as to what your gifts are and what you should be doing with those gifts, what your purpose is. You just need to get in touch with you inner self and pay attention.

 

Have you ever had a spark of inspiration? That spark came from God. He is trying to get you motivated and get your juices flowing.  That spark of inspiration can come from anywhere and everywhere so be on the lookout. This spark of inspiration can come from a person that comes into your life who just says something that resonates with you deeply.  It may also come in something very small like a pencil, something that most not in tune with themselves would overlook.

 

In his book The Promise of a Pencil, Adam Braun explains how he traveled oversees and noticed that what children really wanted was not candy or toys but they what they wanted was a pencil. Yes a simple pencil. They were so impoverished that a simple pencil brought joy into their lives not because it was just a simple pencil but because of what that pencil meant to them and what it represented. See the pencil to them represented hope. It represented a future of possibility through education. A brighter future with abundant opportunities through education that most of us overlook and take for granted. But because Adman was in touch with his inner self he realized that there was something much larger than the pencil that God was showing him.  He then began handing out pencils to every child he met. Imagine being extremely excited just to receive a pencil. From this an ever greater idea blossomed.

 

It came to him one night that he should build schools in the most impoverished areas of the world. To give the children in these areas the opportunity that they dreamed about, areas that didn’t have a schoolhouse for mile and miles.

 

To accomplish this goal Adam established his non-profit, Promise of a Pencil, that set out to develop schools in impoverished areas around the world. Today through his Pencil's of Promise Organization, Adam has built over 2,500 schools. What a great story of inspiration and to think it all began with a simple pencil. God does in fact work in mysterious ways.

 

You too have a purpose and God is trying to assist you in your search. In order to receive His help you need to ask God What is My Purpose, then be still and listen. Watch for the signs. It is up to you to pay attention to what God is trying to show you
