a reminder to god's children
Why is that more often than not society seems to acquiesce to failure instead of greatness? Why do we accept failure over greatness? God did not put His children on this earth to be failures.

He put us here to be great. He put us here to shine, to be the light of this world. He made us in His image and it’s up to us to rise up. To take courage and be the children He expects us to be. To help us, especially in our difficult times, He even left an instructional book filled with His wisdom and knowledge. There’s really no excuse for not being the very best one can be and being the light of this world as He intended.

Have you ever been in a group setting where the presenter or moderator asked a question that you knew the answer to but you were afraid to speak up and answer the question? This is accepting failure. Failure to rise up and be heard. Failure to showcase your knowledge. Failure to interact in a group setting. Sure you may be shy or were afraid you may have been incorrect and everyone would laugh at you. But even so, where does this fear come from? It comes from the fact that you’ve been accepting failure for too long. Who cares if you’re answer is incorrect and the group laughs at you. I’ve even noticed in recent seminars the speaker will offer prizes or in drastic cases money sometimes up to 100 dollars for the person who will just break free from the failure mentality of the group and take a leap of faith to speak up. Why does one have to be motivate by money to rise up? You should already be up, you’re a child of God. If you stay risen up through God, you won’t have to be motivated by money or anything else to rise up.

I’ve witnessed youth sports leagues and unfortunately I see it here as well. Just before the game the kids are having fun and scoring left and right but when the whistle blows everyone just stands around. Suddenly the will to score is absent and the inability to move as witnessed just moments earlier is lost. Without getting to technical in this phenomenon I’m just going to chalk it up as accepting failure instead of acquiescing to greatness.

I remember at one point during the football season, Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, was seen picking up some trash on the sideline and throwing it in the trash. This seemingly minor incident of common sense and courtesy made headline news and was talked about for at least two days. Even he was shocked at the coverage but this goes to show what accepting failure for far too long will do that when someone does the simplest thing that should be an afterthought at best makes headline news.

Think about it, the major movements that are in the news everyday, like #blacklivesmatter, or the #metoo movement or anti bully movements. These are all movements with worthy causes but at the base they are platforms that provide an outlet for individuals to speak up and to not be afraid to do so. We’ve got to do better. The individuals who are at fault, the one’s who are responsible for the pain and suffering of others, the individuals who are the root reason why such groups exist, definitely need to be “outed” but in a society that wasn’t afraid to speak out against wrong in the first place, this type of behavior would not be present. A society that seems to glamorize bad behavior over good behavior. You can see this on display anytime you turn on the t.v, go to the movies or listen to the radio. The only thing that should ever be on display are acts of greatness.

"Just think of how our world would be if everyone acquiesced to greatness instead of failure. Imagine a world where movements to protect the infringed did not exist because we all acquiesced to greatness therefore eliminating the need for such groups because the behavior that caused these groups would not exist."

Income inequality would not be an issue because those that have would share equally with those that did not. A world where we shined bright at all times. A world in which those that were shining the brightest helped others shine just as bright. Let’s all rise up and make the world a world in which God intended.

what can you do to be great today?
